Officers

President

The President is in charge of leading the Chapter and managing its activities according to the policies and procedures of the ACM and the Chapter's bylaws. The President also sets the the agenda for and runs all Chapter and Executive Board meetings, and represents the Chapter to all outside agencies.

Vice President

The Vice President assists the President in managing the chapter, and assumes the President’s duties in the President’s absence. This position is shared by two students on opposite co-op cycles (Spring and Fall) so that there is always one Vice President on campus during their academic semester.

Treasurer

The Treasurer manages the Chapter’s budget and financial records, collects membership dues, pays bills, and submits reimbursements. The Treasurer is also responsible for handling the Annual Financial Report and submitting it to ACM Headquarters, and communicating with the NU Student Activities Business Office (SABO) staff and the VP for Financial Affairs of the NU Student Government Association (SGA).

Secretary

The Secretary is responsible for taking notes at all Chapter and Executive meetings and distributing them (usually by posting them to the wiki). The Secretary also maintains Chapter membership records, prepares the Chapter’s activity report and officer contact information for submission to ACM headquarters, and handles all correspondence of the Chapter.

Events Chair

The Events Chair is responsible for handling the logistics of events. This includes (but is not limited to) planning out events, reserving spaces, and ordering food.

Public Relations Chair

The Public Relations Chair is responsible for advertising our chapter’s events through the creation of posters, emails, use of social media, and other avenues for reaching the student body.

Seminar Chair

The Seminar Chair is responsible for investigating current trends in the computer world, determining the interests of the student body, and establishing contacts within the faculty and student body who are proficient in current trends. The Seminar Chair is also responsible for communicating with guest speakers and helping with logistics of seminar events.
